How It Got Started

Hwaet!

When I was an 8 year old at primary school, the class was asked to write about their idea of a perfect world. In mine, history books grew on trees, which was a slightly unusual answer to say the least. However, it would still be true today! I have spent the rest of my life since then learning everything I can about history, qualifying with a BAHons and a PhD. I have written books, as well as working in the Heritage sector, as a University teaching fellow and, most recently, as a teacher at a top UK boarding school where I taught GCSE, A Level and IB Diploma History. It has been my privilege to teach and enthuse future generations and now I am very excited to have the opportunity to reach a wider audience through this blog. You will find tips for teaching and learning history as well as book reviews and anything else history related that I think you might enjoy.
Thank you for spending time on my blog.
